Our coaches

  • The training sessions are led by a qualified coaching team, supported by a choreographer and a ballet teacher. All coaches are certified in accordance with the guidelines of the Dutch Skating Federation (KNSB).
  • In consultation with the board, the head coach determines the assignment of each skater to a suitable group.
  • The coaches are responsible for the training sessions and all related matters.
  • The coaches select members to participate in competitions and provide appropriate guidance throughout the process.
  • The coaches are responsible for ensuring strong performance on the ice. They are supported by a board member or a representative formally appointed by the board.

Head coaches

Valeri and Nathalie Kornienko are highly qualified and experienced coaches holding a KNSB ST4 trainer’s licence. Together as a team, they have coached skaters of various levels for more than 20 years in France, Australia, and Sweden.

Valeri Kornienko

Valeri holds a Diploma in Physical Education and a Diploma in Adolescent and Sport Psychology from the State University of St. Petersburg, Russia. In 2017, he obtained his qualification as a Technical Specialist. As a skater, coached by renowned T. Moskvina and A. Mishin, Valeri was a member of the Russian national team and won a bronze medal at the 1986 European Championships. He was the winner and silver medalist at a number of prestigious Grand Prix competitions, including Skate Canada and Skate America.

Nathalie Kornienko

As a skater, Nathalie was coached by M. Carpano and A. Calame. She became French National Junior Champion in pair skating and also won the silver medal in senior pair skating. She was also selected to compete internationally in solo skating. Nathalie holds a French Diploma of Physical Education (1st degree) and the State Diploma in Youth Work, Popular Education and Sport (DEJEPS).
